“Today is the day of salvation …” (2 Corinthians 6:2)

The Lord is the Lord of numbers (He even has a book called Numbers!) - and we believe it encourages the body of Christ by sharing praise reports of the number of souls who accept Jesus as their Savior.  We share numbers first and foremost to boast of God's goodness and mercy!  He does desire that all would be saved.  We wish it to be an example of what is possible when we just take the time to open our mouths to let the Good News of Salvation through faith in Christ go forth.

1 Corinthians 3:5-8b NLT says,  "... Why, we're only servants.  Through us God caused you to believe.  Each of us did the work the Lord gave us.  My job was to plant the seed in your hearts, and Apollos watered it, but it was God, not we, who made it grow.  The ones who do the planting or watering aren't important, but God is important because he is the one who makes the seed grow.  The one who plants and the one who waters work as a team with the same purpose."

Acts 2:41 ESV says, "... there were added that day about three thousand souls."

Acts 2:47: "... And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved."

Acts 4:4: "But many of those who had heard the word believed, and the number of the men came to about five thousand."

Acts 5:14: "And more than ever believers were added to the Lord."

On the streets, we are seeing an amazing number of people come to Jesus.  The large majority of people we witness to realize their need for Him and make the decision to make Him their Lord.  Glory to Him!

Here is a small sample of recent salvation praise reports (check back often for more); they illustrate what we see on the streets every week!  Understand that YOU too will win souls to Christ if you simply make yourself available to Him.  Let Him use you.

In 2013 -- 1,990 individuals made decisions for Christ through the one-on-one sharing of the Lord's salvation message by the Soul Patrol Street Ministry and Salvation Today Ministries.  (see 1 Corinthians 1:26-31)  Glory to God!!  Over 19,000 people have trusted Christ since 2003.  Hallelujah!

We spent a few hours witnessing at the Cinco De Mayo event in downtown Dallas.  85 people came to the evangelism booth and, after hearing the two questions about going to heaven and the gospel message that followed, gave their hearts to the Lord Jesus!  You might say they "passed" the "test!"

We were privileged to delivery toys to two children on behalf of the Angel Tree program.  Their father was in prison but, through Angel Tree, he was able to have gifts sent to his children.  A few days before Christmas, we arrived at the home where the children lived.  A group of teenagers were gathered in the driveway as we pulled up by the house.  They all looked at us curiously until I told them we were there to deliver gifts for kids living there.  The kids came out of the house and I asked everyone if I could talk to them.  Nine youth and teens and one adult gathered around us as we told them we wanted to make sure they received the greatest gift.  We explained how they could receive the gift of eternal life through faith in Jesus Christ.  All 10 received God's gift that day, and all were very thankful.  We immediately went to the Christian bookstore to buy 10 New Testaments for them so that they could read about God's love for them and how they can grow in faith.

We witnessed to several middle school boys leaving school after sports practice one night.  One of the boys said he was certain he would go to heaven; the other said he thought he would go to hell because of some things he had done.  We assured him that God was willing to forgive him, and that hell did not have to be his destination.  Another boy joined the others as we presented the gospel to them.  All three of them prayed to receive Jesus, so now all three will escape hell and be with the Lord in heaven some day.

On a very cold night, two teenagers had just arrived home.  We approached as they got out of their car and gave them Gospel tracts.  We asked them if they knew that they would be going to heaven, and they said they did not.  Realizing the importance of knowing where their souls would spend eternity, they listened intently as we presented the "Romans Road" to salvation.  Both recognized their need for Jesus and accepted the free gift of eternal life by faith in Him.

A young man was walking quickly in the cold to his apartment after arriving home.  After catching up to him, we encouraged him to bear with us as we shared with him the Lord's key to heaven.  He used the "key" of faith to ask Jesus into his life and thanked us for sharing.

We were blessed to lead several ladies and their children to the Lord.  They had been talking by their apartments.  One of the ladies had us pray for her little daughter who was diagnosed with kidney cancer.  We put our hope in God that He answered our prayers for the little girl that night.  He is able and willing!

We met a man who had moved to Texas from Mexico only weeks earlier.  He said he did not know many people in his new hometown yet.  We told him he could know Jesus.  He believed the Gospel and received Jesus.  Now he has a relationship with God.  He was very interested in attending church the next Sunday.

A man was working on his car when we asked him if he knew the Lord.  He said he understood what it meant to be saved, but he had never trusted Christ before.  We invited him to confess Jesus as his Savior that night.  He prayed and was saved.  Hallelujah!

A woman was in alone in the passenger seat of a truck parked in an apartment complex parking lot.  She appeared to be crying and told us she was lonely.  We shared with her the love of God and told her how she could be saved.  She trusted Jesus that night.

Eight teenagers were hanging out at a table in the courtyard of an apartment complex.  When we handed them gospel tracts, one boy proudly announced that he was an atheist.  After asking them, "If you died tonight, or anytime in the next 80 years for that matter, and found yourself standing before God, and if He asked you why He should receive you in heaven, do you know how you would respond?"  None of them knew the answer and so were all very interested in hearing the most important knowledge they could ever receive.  As we presented the Romans Road, a couple of them snickered once or twice, but when it was time to decide what they would do with Jesus, all of them realized their need for Him to be their Savior and prayed to receive Christ.

Sixteen children were walking with a few ladies past the Million Dollar Eye Test booth at the State Fair of Texas.  We called out to them that they would receive a free gift (silver 10 Commandments coins) for taking the Million Dollar Eye Test.  They all ran over while a crowd of adults stood back and watched.  We shared the Gospel of Jesus with them and all 16 believed and received Jesus as their Savior and Lord.

Three youths were talking in the parking lot.  We shared the Romans Road with them.  One commented that many Christian and non-Christian groups come through the area to share with people, but it was the first time he ever understood the gospel so clearly.  All 3 prayed to God to turn from their sins and confess Jesus as their Lord.

We met a lady in the parking lot and she invited us into her apartment to talk with her and her husband.  We shared with the two of them and her friend she had just met that day.  She said she and her husband had been married but fought a lot now.  All of them were saved that day and were so glad that we spoke to them.  Before leaving, we prayed for the couple's marriage and encouraged them to follow the Bible's Word about marriage ("husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave Himself up for her" Ephesians 5:25; "wives, submit to your own husband, as to the Lord" Ephesians 5:22).

A lady and her daughter were at the door of her apartment when we caught up to them to give them a gospel tract and present the Gospel of Jesus through the Romans Road.  Both realized that Jesus was there at the door of their hearts (Rev. 3:20) and prayed to receive Him.

The Soul Patrol held an outreach in south Irving, TX.  There had been a murder in the neighboring apartment complex a week prior to that.  We gave away bicycles, candy, food gift certificates, soccer balls, and most importantly, we gave the Word of God.  Exactly 100 people signed decision cards that they confessed Jesus Christ as their Lord.  And older gentlemen who stood at a distance told one of the volunteers that he was very thankful that we were there after he believed in Jesus.
